I guess the beauty of animation is that you can do prequels without worrying about everyone looking 5 years older than the first movie(I’m looking at you Wolverine franchise). While I don’t watch a lot of animated films, I like Monsters Inc and appreciate the huge technological advances that film made. Have you seen their bit about getting Sully’s hair to act naturally? Amazing. Plus I like a lot of the voices used and so I thought I would give it a shot. How can you beat John Krasinski, Helen Mirren, Nathan Fillion and more!

Monster’s University didn’t tug on my heart strings quite as much as I expected and I felt like the moral message was a tad heavy handed. It was pretty predictable as well, but the animation was flawless and the overall story was very sweet.

And I’ve suddenly run out of things to say about it :/ That doesn’t seem like a ringing endorsement but I really did enjoy the movie. It was fluffy and light and exactly what I needed at the time I watched it. I guess it is a kids movie and I shouldn’t expect to be moved on a deeper level but I guess I am a little disappointed in the overall neutrality I feel about it. Hmmm.
