Most of what I knew about this show was from a former co-workers obsession with one of the lead males Christopher Gorham. I vaguely remember watching the first few episodes when the show first came out but it just didn’t capture my attention. And then I sat down and I’ve been marathon-ing through it. At times, Annie Walker seems impossibly good and favored by the agency.
She started to win me over though and I can’t really tell you why. She still irritates me, and how everyone fawns over her like she’s James Bond in a skirt. But this is television and there has to be drama. I’m fairly certain the CIA operates nothing like it’s depicted on the show, the government simply doesn’t have that kind of cash or resources. Plus, who chases down bad guys in five-inch Louboutins? So suspension of belief is required. A lot of suspension.
I do enjoy a lot of the fashion and there is some good eye candy. The show is entertaining and I do enjoy the spy drama. Now that’s renewed for another season though they have to keep upping the stakes and even as I finish Season 3 it’s starting to tread on my patience for the ridiculous. Shows like this have to keep raising the stakes and in doing so they lose credibility for me. Here’s to hoping they don’t stretch too far!
