Did you know this was a re-vamp of a late 60’s television show by the same name? Me neither. So basically it’s a cop procedural with the twist that the lead detective is in a wheelchair and (shockingly) has an axe to grind/something to prove. Nothing against Blair Underwood or anybody else, but I don’t think this is going to take off. There isn’t enough for me to grab onto. I don’t sympathize or care that much about his plight, does that make me totally cruel?
It is a dark show. Pretty graphic. They solve their first crime pretty neatly and easily with just the right amount of cleverness. Wow this is predictable. I’m so bored. Seriously.
I do like the former partner who is killing himself with survivors grief. The back up dancers under Ironside are moderately interesting. Ala Castle, they run the risk of the sidekicks being better written than the lead characters. There was nothing for me to really get into, to connect with, to entice me to see what’s going to happen next. Well, at least that’s one less thing I have to watch!
